And nowadays the characters are so self aware that they are cartoon characters that Vegeta's inspiring speech to his son that finally feels relief that he may be able to stop fighting for his life one day, is that he needs to train forever because the apocalypses will never ever end.GameMaker has everything you need to take your idea from concept to finished game. And that's cool! Really! But DragonBall stopped pretending beyond that. Frieza engineered his own downfall and didn't realize it until it was too late to stop. If Frieza left well enough alone and didn't get caught up in his own paranoia, Goku would've lived out his life as some nameless scrub. Which created the circumstances for Goku to be sent to Earth and for all the events to play out as they did. Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta because of sudden unexplained power jumps among the Saiyans combined with a fear that the legend of the Super Saiyan may be true. ![]() Vegeta wanted immortality.mostly because he's an asshole but also because he wanted revenge against Frieza for destroying his planet and race. Vegeta wanted the Dragonballs to wish for immortality. Vegeta attacked Earth because he was looking for Earth's Dragonballs. They had to go to Namek and use the Dragonballs because Piccolo, a former native of Namek (sort of), died in Vegeta's attack. Krillin had to steal Frieza's wish to bring back their fallen friends on Earth. ![]() Frieza wanted to kill Goku's friends because they stole Frieza's wish. Goku and Frieza fought because Frieza wanted to kill Goku's friends. ![]() Because when you look at events as a whole it really makes it seem like the battle between Goku and Frieza was inevitable. I know Toriyama didn't plan any of this shit out but the way events unfold make you feel like he did. Raditz through Namek sagas are one long story that builds on top of itself and it only gets better if you watched the original Dragonball. The animation is more or less the same between DB and most of Z, what DB has over Z and specially Super is thematic consistency, something you can see they tried to recapture in the first half of GT, DB is the only part of the story to have a clear start, middle and ending, and a very specific goal, Z and Super function more like Saint Seiya with random arcs happening one after the other with no logical progression to them, Z sorta starts where it should by exploring the origins of Goku and Piccolo but once the Namek arc is over all consistency goes out of the window, suddenly a bunch of androids start showing up at the perfect moment for the main characters to be able to at least tank them thanks to the strenght they gained in the previous arc, then some wizard makes a fat pink thing and attacks Earth, then a space cat wakes up and demands to see a Super Saiyan God JUST as Videl gets pregnant and so there are finally enough saiyans to summon one, then Frieza randomly revives JUST in time to join a random pastiche of a mutliverse tournament, nothing here happens as a consequence of the previous thing, it's just one contrivance after the next.įair enough. ![]()
